PRODUCT NEWS March 10th, 1998 Some times ago, a U.S.A. Major Petro Chemical Company developped for a Canadian plant a process involving high pressure valves for petrol steam lift. Valves should be suitable to handle steam used to fluidify and to pump up from underground high density petrol. Due to the steam production cost, steam itself is recycled after filtering. Obviously, the steam to recycle is dirty and mixed with particles able to destroy valves very quickly. Cavitation inside valves worsen the problem. That Company asked to us, and to some other Top Manufacturers of high pressure valves, to realize a new special valve design to prevent cavitation, and erosion of trim. We designed some samples having a special seat/disk and a special chamber design suitable for that service. Those samples were delivered to Canada and, together with competitor samples, tested on site by the Petro Chemical Company. At the end of this severe test, those special pattern Cesare Bonetti BONT® Valves have been judged by Customer as the best product and the only one able to fully solve the problem.
